smoothie-ctaHere at Inta Juicy Greeley, we use some of the healthiest foods on the planet. But just sticking them in a blender and pressing “puree”  can lead to a drink that doesn’t exactly flow into your cup.

That’s where the milks come into play. These four liquids add a wonderful, natural sweetness to our smoothie shop’s offerings, and all of them a healthy option. The first three below also have no lactose, which can cause digestive problems in a good deal of the population.

So, what are the yummy milks you’ll find here in our juice bar?

Almond Milk –  Almond milk is a great lower-calorie alternative to cow’s milk, and it has no cholesterol or saturated fat. It also has some of the same heart-healthy fatty acids that are often found in fish. (Fish, it turns out, makes for a horrible smoothie…) On top of that, it doesn’t have to be refrigerated!

Cashew Milk – Cashew milk has quite a bit of soluble dietary fiber (the best kind) and is full of vitamins and minerals. Like almond milk, cashew milk contains the heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids that can actually help in lowering LDL-cholesterol (“bad cholesterol”) and helping with your HDL (“good cholesterol”)

Soy Milk – Much like almond milk and cashew milk, soy has no lactose. Unlike the previous two milks, it contains no tree nuts (in other words, nut milk contains nuts…go figure). If you have an allergy to tree nuts, soy might be the way for you to go. It contains less fat and fewer calories than cow’s milk, and its high content of isoflavones makes soy milk a superfood in some people’s eyes.

Cow’s Milk – Out of left field…cow’s milk! Dairy gets a bad rap sometimes…otherwise, why would we have to milk all of these nuts and legumes? But the bad reputation often comes from the high fat content of unprocessed milk. Many of us, and especially our parents, grew up drinking whole milk, or at the very least 2%. But when you remove the fat from milk, you’ve still got something that’s full of calcium and blends everything together wonderfully. If you don’t have an intolerance of lactose, cow’s milk can still be a great option for you.

So there you go…four milks that make the drinks here in our smoothie restaurants all the more wonderful. Check out our Inta Juice Menu here and pick yours!
